Taxonomy
Cancellaria agassizii was named by Dall (1889) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; North Carolina-Gulf of Mexico.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Agatrix.

It was recombined as Trigonostoma agassizii by Petit (1970); it was recombined as Agatrix agassizii by Petit (1967), Petit (1976), Jung and Petit (1990) and Landau et al. (2012).
