Ammonites muensteri was named by von Buch (1832). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Sporadoceras (Sporadoceras) muensteri by Petersen (1975); it was recombined as Sporadoceras muensteri by Woroncowa-Marcinowska (2006), Korn et al. (2015) and Zong et al. (2015).
