Taxonomy
Cancellaria harzhauseri was named by Landau et al. (2012). Its type specimen is NMMW 2011/0177/0001, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Las Lomas [lower Gatun Fm], which is in a Tortonian coastal siltstone in the Gatun Formation of Panama.

B. Landau et al. 2012A medium-sized Cancellaria species, with a multispiral protoconch, relatively elevated, tabulate spire, last whorl not particularly inflated, very fine reticulate sculpture with a predominant axial component, and adapical and mid-columellar folds bifid or incipiently so.
