Cancellaria (Euclia) dinota was named by Woodring (1970) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Panama.]. Its type specimen is USNM 645728, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Euclia dinota by Landau et al. (2012).
