Taxonomy
Cancellaria (Pyruclia) pycta was named by Olsson (1964) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene; Ecuador.]. Its type specimen is USNM 643869, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Pyruclia) cibarcola pycta by Woodring (1970); it was recombined as Pyruclia pycta by Landau et al. (2012).
