Cancellaria (Pyruclia) lacondamini was named by Olsson (1964) [DISTRIBUTION: Neogene; Ecuador.]. Its type specimen is USNM 644111, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pyruclia lacondamini by Landau et al. (2012).
