Pyruclia auriculaperta
Taxonomy
Cancellaria auriculaperta was named by Vokes (1938) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Trinidad and Tobago.]. Its type specimen is Amer. Mus. No. 24665, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Springvale (AMNH collection), which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in Trinidad and Tobago.
It was recombined as Cancellaria (Cancellaria) auriculaperta by Vokes (1938); it was recombined as Cancellaria (Pyruclia) auriculaperta by Woodring (1970) and Jung and Petit (1990); it was recombined as Pyruclia auriculaperta by Landau et al. (2012).
