Taxonomy
Goniatites auris was named by Quenstedt (1846). It is not extant. It is the type species of Aulatornoceras.

It was recombined as Aulatornoceras auris by Schindewolf (1922), Korn and Klug (2002), House (2002) and House and Kirchgasser (2008).
