Macroacaena alseanus

Taxonomy
Lyreidus alseanus was named by Rathbun (1932). Its type specimen is USNM 371901, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South side of Alsea Bay, which is in a Rupelian marine sandstone in the Alsea Formation of Oregon.

It was recombined as Lyreidus (Lysirude) alseanus by Feldmann (1992); it was recombined as Macroacaena alseanus by Tucker (1998) and Schweitzer et al. (2000); it was recombined as Macroacaena alseana by Schweitzer et al. (2003), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Karasawa et al. (2014).
