Reptomultisparsa was named by d'Orbigny (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori R Sepkoski's reference number: 1241]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Cyclostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Multisparsidae by Hara and Taylor (2009), Zaton and Taylor (2010) and Zaton et al. (2013).
