Taxonomy
Ceriopora was named by Goldfuss (1826) [Sepkoski's age data: J Aale T Plio Sepkoski's reference number: 908]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Cerioporidae.

It was assigned to Planorbulinidae by Cushman (1927); to Heteroporidae by Bassler (1953) and Gordon and Taylor (1999); to Cyclostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cerioporidae by Taylor (2010), Gordon and Taylor (2015) and Brezina et al. (2021).
