Cretaclopus longipes

Taxonomy
Geotrupoides longipes was named by Ponomarenko (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3152/4303, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Myangad locality, Section 221/17, which is in an Aptian lacustrine mudstone in the Gurvan-Eren Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Cretaclopus.

It was recombined as Holcorobeus (Holcorobeus) longipes by Nikolajev (1992) and Krell (2000); it was recombined as Cretaclopus longipes by Nikolajev (2004), Nikolajev (2007) and Neita-Moreno et al. (2019).
