Taxonomy
Olenikites triton was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 18853 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS M622, Saurian Hill, which is in an Illyrian basinal (carbonate) limestone/siltstone in the Prida Formation of Nevada.
