Taxonomy
Groenlandites amplus was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28461 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 74741, Chischa River, which is in an Aegean marine siliciclastic in the Toad Formation of Canada.
