Psilatricolpites acerbus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-9-582 (Catatumbo). Loc: 47.8X115.5 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967 | Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate, furrow C α 2, C β I, C γ 2. One of the furrows may have C α 3 type. Sculpture type psilate-microreticulate. Furrow provided with a margo. Columnellae probably digitate. There seems to be an extremely fine intra-reticular structure. Semitectate. Maximum thickness of exine 2.5 μ. ectexine thicker than endexine. Central furrow not very well denied, with equatorial constriction.
