Psilatricolpites polaroides was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-73-574 (Catatumbo). Loc: 35.3X123.4, a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967 | Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate; furrow C α 2, C β 3, C γ 1; sculpture type psilate. Columellae clearly visible and digitate in the polar area. Furrows provided with a margo. Grains sometimes with equatorial constriction. Thickness of exine in polar area 4μ, at the equator about 2μ, ectexine thicker than the endexine; grain tektite, at least in equatorial area.
