Clavatricolpites gracilis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-10-583 (Catatumbo). Loc: 43.1 X 122.1 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate-subprolate; furrow C α 2, C β 2, C γ I; sculpture type clavate (-gemmate). Diameter of clavae < I μ and length about I μ. Thickness of exine about 1.5 μ; ectexine (including sculpture) thicker than endexine. Grain apparently intectate. Furrows provided with a margo. Polar area 4 μ.
