Taxonomy
Retitricolpites maturus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-49-578 (Catatumbo). Loc: 43.2X127.6 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate; furrow C α 1, C β 1, C γ 1; sculpture type reticulate, simplibaculate (diameter of lumina about 1 μ). Thickness of exine about 1.3 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Grain clearly intectate. Polar area 4 μ.
