Retitricolpites minutus was named by Kedves (1999). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-49-578 (Catatumbo). Loc: 114.6X36.4 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate-subprolate; furrow C α 2, C β 2, C γ 1; sculpture type reticulate, simplibaculate (diameter of lumina 1 μ). Furrows provided with a margo. Thickness of exine 1.3 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Grain semitectate. Polar area rather small.
