Taxonomy
Retitricolpites maledictus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-96-579 (Catatumbo). Loc: 41.1X115.3 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate; furrow C α 2, C β 3b, C γ 1. Sculpture type reticulate (-foveolate) (diameter of lumina less than 1 μ). Wall semitectate; muri simplibaculate. Thickness of exine about 1.7 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Furrows provided with a very distinct margo. In some grains pore like markings. Polar area rather large.
