Retitricolpites constrictus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-96-579 (Catatumbo). Loc: 109.5X35.1 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Thickness of exine in polar area about 3 μ, in equatorial area about 2 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Grain provided with equatorial costae and distinct equatorial constriction.
