Taxonomy
Koenenites beckeri was named by House and Kirchgasser (2008). Its type specimen is NYSM 12150, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Middlesex, loc. II(XX) (Nap-8), which is in a Frasnian marine limestone/shale in the West River Shale Formation of New York.
