Psilatricolporites obscurus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-15-600 (Catatumbo). Loc: 47.2X112.5 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolporate, subspheroidal; furrow C α 3, C β 2, C γ 1; pore P α 2, P β 1, P γ 2; sculpture type psilate. Columellae clearly discernible. Exine very thick (maximum thickness 4.8 μ); ectexine thicker than endexine. Polar area 7.6 μ. Equatorial colpus and conspicuous costae colpi present. Some grains verrucate in equatorial area.
