Foveotricolporites caldensis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-7-496 (Catatumbo) Loc: 53.7X126.2 (micr. P0-58), a plant debris (Pollen grains), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Thickness of exine 2 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Wall semitectate. Polar area 9.5 μ. Colpi bordered by distinct costae colpi; pores with costae pori.
