Verrutricolporites haplites was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-55-596 (Catatumbo). Loc: 45.1X121.5 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Thickness of exine (incl. sculpture) about 3 μ. Polar area rather small. Furrows and pores provided with costar. Endexine about as thick as ectexine.
