Verrutricolporites haplites was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-55-596 (Catatumbo). Loc: 45.1X121.5 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolporate, subprolate; furrow C α 2, C β 3, C γ 2; pore P α 2, P β 3, P γ 2; sculpture type very irregularly verrucate (diameter of lumina 1.5 - 2.2 μ). Thickness of exine (incl. sculpture) about 3 μ. Polar area rather small. Furrows and pores provided with costar. Endexine about as thick as ectexine.
