Retitricolporites finitus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-9-582 (Catatumbo) Loc: 42.3X112.7 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolporate, prolate; furrow C α 3, C β 2, C 𝝲 1; pore P α 3d, P β 2, P 𝝲 1; sculpture type reticulate (-foveolate); diameter of lumina < 1 µ. Thickness of exine about 2 µ in polar area, about 1.3 µ in equatorial area. Wall semitectate. Ectexine thicker than endexine. Muri simplibaculate. Colpi probably with a margo; pores with costae priori. Polar area rather small.
