Retitricolporites profundus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-10-583 (Catatumbo) Loc: 48.7X112.4 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Lumina diminishing towards furrows where sculpture becomes foveate. Diameter of lumina about 0.5-1 µ, murk simplibaculate. Wall semitectate. Furrows with distinct costar colpi. Sometimes pores not visible, and grains seemingly tricolpate. Thickness of exine 1.5-3.5 µ. Polar area rather large. |
