Taxonomy
Retistephanocolpites minutus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-15-600 (Catatumbo). Loc: 39.2X113.9 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain stephanocolpate; prolate: furrow C α 2, C β 2-3, C γ 1; sculpture type micro-reticulate (maximum diameter of lumina < 0.5 μ). Furrows provided with a margo. Thickness of exine about 1 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Muri simplibaculate and grain probably tektite. Sometimes the grains are tricolpate. Polar area rather small to medium-sized.
