Retistephanocolpites finalis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-72-417 (Catatumbo) Loc: 47.0X113.85 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grains), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.
