Taxonomy
Schizophoria tani was named by Huang (1933). Its type specimen is NIGP 4668 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lihsukou, Location TL36, T'angchiapa, Hanyuan-hsien, which is in a Roadian/Capitanian carbonate limestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
