Pseudostephanocolpites perfectus

Taxonomy
Pseudostephanocolpites perfectus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-55-596 (Catatumbo) Loc: 122.2X45.6 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Pseudostephanocolpites.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain apparently stephanocolpate, equatorial limb spheroidal hexagonal; furrow C α 1, C β 1b, C γ 1; 'pseudocolpi' C α 2, C β 1a, C γ 2; sculpture type difficult to define, possibly reticulate-foveolate-baculate. Between polar area and equator the endexine is lacking and there grain showing polar areas; between these thickenings the 'pseudocolpi' are situated. Thickness of exine about 5 μ.
