Retistephanocolporites festivus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-9-582 (Catatumbo) Loc: 43.9X126.6 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Thickness of exine about 1 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Polar area about 22.5 μ. Pore surrounded by an annulus and in some grains a vestibulum-like structure visible. Wall semitectate.
