Retisyncolporites aureus

Taxonomy
Retisyncolporites aureus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-96-579 (Catatumbo). Loc: 37.1X117.2 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Retisyncolporites.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain syncolporate, subangular; furrow C α 1, C β 2, C γ 1; pore P α 1, P β 2-3, P γ 2; sculpture type reticulate (diameter of lumina 1.6 μ). Lumina diminishing in size towards poles. Thickness of exine 1.4 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Muri simplibaculate and the wall semitectate. Transversal furrows and costar pori present.
