Retisyncolporites angularis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-73-574 (Catatumbo). Loc: 120.9X38.7 (micr. P0-58)., a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain syncolporate, angular-subspheroidal; furrow C α 1, C β 2, C γ 2; pore P α 2b, P β 2, P γ 2; sculpture type reticulate-verrucate. Reticulum indistinct, fading out towards poles. The three furrows connected at the poles. Thickness of exine 3.8 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Muri duplibaculate. Wall semitectate. Some specimens with perforate tectum. Furrows and pores granulated.
