Cassis (Phalium) aldrichi was named by Dall (1890). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Semicassis (Tylocassis) aldrichi by Gardner (1947) and Woodring (1959); it was recombined as Phalium (Tylocassis) aldrichi by Abbott (1968); it was recombined as Semicassis aldrichi by Beu (2010).
