Taxonomy
Aspidura similis was named by Eck (1865). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aspidura (Hemiglypha) loricata by Pohlig (1878); it was recombined as Ophiomusium simile by Hess (1965) and Radwanski (2002); it was recombined as Aspiduriella similis by Salamon et al. (2012).
