Vipera gedulyi

Taxonomy
Vipera gedulyi was named by Bolkay (1913). Its type specimen is HGI Ob-4467/Vt.74, a partial skull (82 isolated skull bones, 25 fragmentary compound bones and 206 isolated venom fangs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Polgárdi 2, which is in a MN 13 sinkhole /limestone in Hungary.

It was recombined as Vipera (Daboia) gedulyi by Zerova (1992); it was recombined as Macrovipera gedulyi by Venczel (1994).
