Taxonomy
Ptychites guloensis was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 70993 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 83873, northwest of Hook Lake, which is in a Pelsonian marine horizon in the Sulphur Mountain Formation of Canada.
