Nathorstites macconnelli
Taxonomy
Popanoceras mcconnelli was named by Whiteaves (1889). Its type specimen is GSC 4716 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Liard River, 30 miles below Devil's Portage, which is in a Julian marine siliciclastic in the Liard Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Nathorstites.
It was recombined as Nathorstites mcconnelli by Smith (1927), Spath (1951), Bychkov et al. (1976) and Arkadiev and Vavilov (1984); it was recombined as Nathorstites macconnelli by Tozer (1994) and Dagys and Konstantinov (1997).
