Taxonomy
Hannaoceras was named by Tomlin (1931) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Ammonites nasturtium.

It was assigned to Choristoceratidae by Spath (1951); to Trachyceratidae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
