Longitrichotomocolpites triangularis

Longitrichotomocolpites triangularis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-10-583 (Catatumbo). Loc: 39.7X117.9 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Longitrichotomocolpites.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain trichotomocolpate; subangular; furrow C α 1-2b, C β 1a-2 (distal pole), C γ 1; sculpture type microreticulate (diameter of lumina < 0.5 μ). Furrow at the proximal side sometimes C γ 2b, but mostly C γ 1a. Muri probably simplibaculate and grain semitectate. Thickness of exine about 2.5 μ, ectexine thicker than endexine. Slits of apical opening exceptionally long, extending beyond the equator and continuing till halfway up towards the other pole.
