Clavamonocolpites terrificus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-73-574 (Catatumbo). Loc: 49.1X124.2 (micr. P0-58)., a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Clavamonocolpites.

González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain monocolpate, globular to oval; furrow C α 1, C β 1, C γ 1; sculpture type clavate (length of clavae about 3.2 μ), diameter of clavae 0.7-2.0 μ; clavae sometimes angular towards the apex. Furrow probably with margo. Thickness of exine (incl. of clavae) about 5 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Grain probably intectate.
