Echimorphomonocolpites gracilis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-57-598 (Catatumbo). Loc: 120.5X34.7 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain monocolpate, globular to ovoid; furrow C 1, C 1a, C 1-2; sculpture type echinate, but gemmae, micro-echinae and baculae also present. Furrow long and irregular. Maximum length of echinae 6.5 μ, maximum diameter 3.2 μ. Thickness of exine (excl. of echinae) about 2 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine.
