Racemonocolpites racematus

Taxonomy
Monocolpites racematus was named by Van der Hammen (1954). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-49-578 (Catatumbo). Loc: 115.3X578 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Racemonocolpites.

It was recombined as Racemonocolpites racematus by Van der Hammen (1954) and González-Guzmán (1967).

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain monocolpate, globular to ovoid; furrow C α 1b, C β 1, C γ 1; sculpture type gemmate with transitions to clavate. Diameter of 'gemmae' 2-3 μ. Thickness of exine about 2 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Grain probably intectate.
