Racemonocolpites romanus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-72-487 (Catatumbo). Loc: 43.1X122.6 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain monocolpate, globular to ellipsoid; sculpture type gemmate. Some of the gemmae wider towards the apex; viewed at high focus the gemmae seem to forma very thick-walled reticulum. Maximum thickness of exine about 4 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Furrow inconspicuous, blotted out by the overlying sculpture-elements.
