Papillamonocolpites splendens
Taxonomy
Papillamonocolpites splendens was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-9-582 (Catatumbo). Loc: 113.6X47.5 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Papillamonocolpites.

Sculptural elements mammiform 6.5 μ high, diameter at the base about 3.5 μ. Thickness of exine (excl. of sculpture) about 1.5 μ. Grain apparently tectate. |
