Retimonocolpites bernardii was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-48-576 (Catatumbo) Loc: 113.7X32.8 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain monocolpate; furrow C α 1, C β 2, C 𝝲 1; sculpture type reticulate (diameter of lumina < 1 µ). Exine < 1 µ thick. Wall semitectate. Muri simplibaculate. Furrow broader towards the ends, probably with margo.
