Taxonomy
Rotaurisaurus contundo was named by Yates (1999). Its type specimen is UTGD 87795, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Crisp & Gunns Quarry, Head of Arthur Street, which is in an Induan lacustrine - small shale/siltstone in the Knocklofty Formation of Australia.
