Monoporites annuloides was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-96-579 (Catatumbo) Loc: 36.5X114.6 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain monoporate, spheroidal-subspheroidal; pore P α 3b, P β 3b, P γ 1; sculpture type psilate-microverrucate. Pore about 9 μ in diameter, with annulus about 3 μ in diameter. Thickness of exine < 1 μ, ectexine about as thick as endexine. Grain probably tectate.
