Kolymia milievskyi was named by Biakov (2012). Its type specimen is SVKNII 38/02-06.98, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Beglyi Creek, outcrop 25, tributary of Khuren River, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Beglyi Formation of the Russian Federation.
